The need:
For Global Citizen’s (CG) 2017 Movement Makers Summit, GC asked us to help create an event to provide aspiring and experienced activist with a space to connect, reflect, learn and be inspired.
In 2018, GC invited us to go deeper, and we doubled down designing an experience focused on creating a community of activists. We created participatory, interactive, engaging and inspiring activities, expanded brand partnerships and drove even more action for partners and participants.
Our Solution:
Spark put together a full day summit that brought together activists from across sectors and around the world. Those on the stage participated in the whole day, and became part of a new activist community.
Highlights included a performance by world champion slam poet and Sudanese refugee Emi Mahmoud, a fireside chat with World Bank President Dr. Jim Yong Kim, a powerful intergenerational conversation between civil rights icon Minnijean Brown-Trickey and a 13 year-old journalist, and call to action from Nobel Peace Laureate, Kailash Satyarthi.
