Global Citizen Prize
Measurement & Evaluation
Grant and awards due-diligence | Grant and awards judging | Social impact audit
Our team provides in-depth vetting, risk assessment, due diligence, and social impact analysis of award candidates across the world for Global Citizen’s Global Citizen Prizes, Cisco Youth Leadership Awards, and Country Hero Awards. David and Andrea also serve as judges for several of these awards.
Our relationship with Global Citizen (GC) started with Program Direction for Global Citizen Movement Makers Summit 2016 and 2017. In 2018, GC asked Spark to serve alongside them and the Cisco team as judges for the Cisco Youth Leadership Award, which recognizes a young person (18-30) who is positively impacting the world and accelerating global problem solving in pursuit of the Sustainable Development Goals.
In 2019 we added support for the Global Citizen Prizes, which recognized individuals across a variety of fields who have shown commitment towards ending extreme poverty. For these prizes, we conduct research on the nominees’ work, impact, and vision. Award categories include business leaders, world leaders, artists, and global citizen of the year.
In 2020 GC launched the The Country Hero Award, which recognizes inspirational leaders in their communities who are working to achieve a fair, just, and equal world. For the Country Hero Awards, Spark conducts a detailed due-diligence and risk analysis of all nominees, building a multi-national, multi-lingual team of experts to assess background information across 7 regions. In 2022, GC recognized leaders from Germany, Samoa, UK, USA and Canada, South Africa, Mexico, and Nigeria.
Over the last 3 years, we have:
- Reviewed over 323 applications (only includes youth prize)
- Conducted research on impact or identified potential risks associated with over 193 nominees
- Recognized 33 leaders across the world for their work
- Advised on prizes totaling $750,000.00
